After fishing the 2017 Bassmaster Central Open, I am now qualified to fish the 2018 Bassmaster Elite Series. WOW!! I never thought I would be able to say that. To be able to live out my passion globally in front of millions was not what I had planned for myself, but to fish with some of my child hood heroes has been a dream of mine since I started fishing at age 3. I started my journey in West Monroe, LA fishing my home lakes in Louisiana, South Arkansas, and East Texas. But, when my wife took a job in Northwest Arkansas, my adventure really began. For the last 10 years, with the support of my family, I have been able to fish across most of the Southern US Region, and I can not wait to test out all I have learned and stretch outside my comfort zone.
Over the last 10 years, I have fished an average of 3 tournaments per month which included not only the BASS Opens, but also the Northwest Arkansas Bassmasters club tournaments, Anglers in Action, Everett Team Trail series, Joe Bass series, and BFL’s. As an active member of the Northwest Arkansas Bassmasters, I have finished as Angler of the Year 3 years, the top 6 for 6 years, competed in the last 7 state tournaments, and a 3-time divisional qualifier. And, without my club, I would not be where I am today. When I am not fishing, I am spending time with my family at home in Bella Vista, AR. My wife, Rhonda, and I have been married for 19 years. We have two ridiculously smart, funny, and gorgeous children, Caney and Joseph. In my spare time, I volunteer as boat captain for monthly and annual youth tournaments, assist with the Bassmasters’ Classic (when in the region) as a marshal and boat yard volunteer, and the locally hosted Buddy Bass Classic as well as other regional tournaments. I have also been included in segments on the Weather Channel and in local papers. I currently serve as the Northwest Arkansas Bassmasters’ Club President and have held that position for 4 years, and now serve as State Youth Director.
I am ready for the challenge. I am ready for the adventure. I hope to see you all on the Trail!
